Anger therefore is as much a political matter as a biological one. The decision to get angry has powerful consequences, whether anger is directed towards one’s spouse or one’s government. Spouses and governments know this. They know that anger is ultimately an emphatic message: Pay attention to me. I don’t like what you are doing. Restore my pride, You’re in my way. Danger.
